Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Alshafie<\/strong><br>\nJamiyah Academy \u2013 Singapore<\/p>\n\n<p>The Holy Qur\u2019an is a book of guidance, reflection, and contemplation. Allah Almighty says:<\/p>\n\n<p><em>\u201cThis is a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, so that they may reflect upon its verses and that people of understanding may be reminded.\u201d<\/em> (Surah Sad: 29)<\/p>\n\n<p>The Qur\u2019an was revealed in a language distinguished by its richness, precision, and remarkable rhetorical beauty. With the spread of Islam across multilingual and multicultural societies, translations of the meanings of the Qur\u2019an have become an important means of helping non-Arabic speakers understand its message and become acquainted with its spiritual and moral values.<\/p>\n\n<p>Yet, no matter how accurate a translation may be, it remains an attempt to convey meaning, while the original Arabic Qur\u2019anic text retains its unique linguistic and rhetorical qualities, which cannot be fully transferred into another language.<\/p>\n\n<p>There is no doubt that translation plays an important role in helping readers understand the general meaning of Qur\u2019anic verses, especially at the beginning of their journey with the Qur\u2019an. However, an important question remains: to what extent can translation convey the Qur\u2019an with all its beauty, precision, and spirituality?<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<div id=\"arabic\"
