To be an Academy that nurtures generations of Muslims to be guided by faith, empowered by knowledge and committed to serving humanity.
To develop individuals with the teachings of Islam and nurture meaningful contributions to society, both locally and globally, regardless of faith or race.
Jamiyah Academy, formerly known as Jamiyah Education Centre, serves as the educational platform of Jamiyah Singapore, a distinguished NGO founded in 1932 by Moulana Abdul Aleem Siddique, a respected scholar and peace ambassador from India. His timeless vision—to serve people with compassion, regardless of race or faith—continues to guide the organisation’s mission across time and geography.
Over the course of nine decades, Jamiyah Singapore has evolved into one of Singapore’s leading community organisations, providing welfare homes, free medical and legal clinics, food ration programmes through its FoodBank and Jampacked Centres at Bukit Batok, West Coast and Radin Mas, in collaboration with the respective grassroots organisations. These centres also offer holistic programmes for families with school going children, seniors and those in need.
As an extension of Jamiyah’s Dakwah mission, Jamiyah Education Centre (JEC), was established in 1970, pioneering Singapore’s first Madrasah classes for children under 12 years old—a groundbreaking initiative in the Islamic education landscape at that time.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, JEC demonstrated innovative leadership by expanding to serve all age groups and pioneering inclusive education, including Quran classes that utilised Braille for blind students. The institution developed revolutionary teaching methodologies enabling adults with no prior Quran knowledge to read fluently within just 6 months.
The 2000s saw academic advancement through diploma programmes facilitated by overseas university partnerships, an elevation of academic standards, and increased international recognition.
From the 2010s to the present, JEC has achieved global excellence, offering comprehensive programmes from degree to PhD levels through prestigious partnerships with universities across Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
Jamiyah Academy, as it is known now, stands as more than an educational platform; it is an Islamic-driven learning institution dedicated to shaping future-ready leaders grounded in strong Islamic values. Emphasising character, resilience, and responsibility, the Academy prepares students not only for educational success but also to contribute meaningfully to society and community—embodying the compassionate vision that has guided Jamiyah Singapore for over nine decades.
Jamiyah Academy nurtures future leaders who are rooted in faith and equipped to face the challenges ahead. We believe Islamic education goes beyond classrooms and certificates. It inspires character, responsibility, and service to the community.
By providing accessible, relevant, and transformative learning for every stage of life, we guide students with excellence, fostering an environment where knowledge is lived, values shape decisions, and learning becomes a lifelong pursuit. Our mission is to develop individuals who embody Islam and contribute meaningfully to society, both locally and globally.
