Which Is More Important: Reading the Translation of the Qur’an or Learning the Language of the Qur’an?

The Holy Qur’an is a book of guidance, reflection, and contemplation. Allah Almighty says:
“This is a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, so that they may reflect upon its verses and that people of understanding may be reminded.” (Surah Sad: 29)
The Qur’an was revealed in a language distinguished by its richness, precision, and remarkable rhetorical beauty. With the spread of Islam across multilingual and multicultural societies, translations of the meanings of the Qur’an have become an important means of helping non-Arabic speakers understand its message and become acquainted with its spiritual and moral values.
Yet, no matter how accurate a translation may be, it remains an attempt to convey meaning, while the original Arabic Qur’anic text retains its unique linguistic and rhetorical qualities, which cannot be fully transferred into another language.
There is no doubt that translation plays an important role in helping readers understand the general meaning of Qur’anic verses. However, an important question remains: to what extent can translation convey the Qur’an with all its beauty, precision, and spirituality?
أيهما أولى: قراءةُ ترجمةِ القرآن أم تعلُّمُ لغةِ القرآن؟

يُعَدُّ القرآن الكريم كتاب هدايةٍ وتدبرٍ وتأمل، يقول تعالى: ﴿كِتَابٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ﴾.
وقد نزل بلغةٍ امتازت بثرائها ودقتها وجمالها البياني. ومع انتشار الإسلام في مجتمعات متعددة اللغات والثقافات، أصبحت ترجمة معاني القرآن الكريم وسيلة مهمة لمساعدة غير الناطقين بالعربية على فهم رسالته والتعرّف على قيمه الروحية والأخلاقية.
غير أن الترجمة، مهما بلغت دقتها، تظل محاولة لنقل المعنى، بينما يبقى النص القرآني العربي محتفظًا بخصوصيته اللغوية والبلاغية التي يصعب نقلها كاملة إلى لغة أخرى.
ولا شك أن الترجمة تؤدي دورًا مهمًّا في مساعدة القارئ على فهم المعنى العام للآيات، خاصة في بداية رحلته مع القرآن. لكن إلى أي مدى تستطيع الترجمة أن تنقل القرآن بكل ما فيه من جمالٍ ودقةٍ وروحانية؟ وهل يمكن أن تعوّض تجربة قراءة النص القرآني بلغته الأصلية؟
إن القرآن الكريم نزل باللغة العربية، واختيرت ألفاظه بعناية لتحمل معاني واسعة وأبعادًا بلاغية وصوتية وروحية يصعب نقلها كاملة إلى أي لغة أخرى…
