Build critical foundations across Quranic sciences, Tajweed, progressive memorisation, and Hadith methodology to understand authentic scholarly transmission and text verification.
Develop practical fluency in classical Arabic through grammar, morphology, and rhetoric, giving you direct access to foundational texts and classical commentaries.
Apply Shariah principles to modern contexts, exploring Maqasid al Shariah, legal administration, ethical organizational governance, and constructive engagement with current social issues.
This diploma is designed for learners at different stages of life who share a sincere commitment to deepening their Islamic knowledge.
If you have completed your O-Levels and want to pursue a structured Islamic education pathway before or alongside further studies, this diploma provides a strong academic and spiritual foundation.
Balancing work, family, or National Service commitments? Weekend and evening classes are designed so that dedicated adult learners can pursue the diploma without setting aside their responsibilities.

There are two recognised entry routes. Candidates may qualify through either the academic route or the Islamic education route. Our team is here to help you identify which pathway applies to you.
Progress directly into the Bachelor’s Degree in Usuluddin with UNIMEL, or pursue undergraduate Islamic studies with accredited partner universities locally and abroad.
Take on practical responsibilities across Singapore mosques, madrasahs, and community organisations in learning management, programme administration, and religious guidance.
Teach Quran recitation, foundational Tajweed, and Islamic studies with confidence, supporting community learning centres and structured classroom settings.
Not necessarily. Applicants under Route A (GCE O-Level) do not need a prior background in Islamic studies to enrol. The curriculum is designed to build from foundational principles upward. If you have studied Islam previously, your knowledge will be a benefit, but it is not a prerequisite for Route A applicants.
Full-time students complete the six-semester programme in three years, while part-time students spread their studies over five years. Both tracks follow the same curriculum and receive the same accredited qualification. The part-time option is designed for working adults, those completing National Service, or learners managing family responsibilities.
The Diploma in Syariah Islamiyyah is awarded in partnership with Universiti Islam Melaka (UNIMEL), a recognised Islamic university. Graduates can use the qualification to apply for further study at the bachelor’s degree level locally and regionally. For specific employment or professional recognition queries, we recommend confirming directly with the relevant institution or employer.
Graduates are prepared for roles in Islamic education, Shariah administration, da’wah, mosque and madrasah work, and community youth development. Many graduates also continue to bachelor’s programmes in Islamic studies before entering professional roles. The diploma builds both knowledge and practical competency across a wide range of Islamic service careers.
Classes are conducted in both English and Malay, depending on the module and the lecturer. Core Islamic subjects are taught in a way that is accessible to learners whose primary language is English. A working knowledge of Malay is helpful but not required to follow the programme effectively.
